Oslo offers a collaborative, accessible, and values-driven ecosystem for young entrepreneurs, especially those interested in technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The city brings together co-working communities, public support, research institutions, startups, and established companies, creating an environment where young people can learn, test ideas, and grow.
Collaborative co-working and innovation spaces
A defining feature of Oslo’s ecosystem is its strong co-working culture. These spaces are more than offices, they are communities where young founders meet peers, mentors, investors, and partners.
Key spaces include StartupLab, one of Norway’s leading incubators for early-stage startups, offering mentoring, investor access, and a strong founder network. Mesh Community is known for its open, social atmosphere and focus on innovation with impact. Oslo Science Park connects startups with research, universities, and technology-driven companies, making it especially relevant for AI and deep-tech entrepreneurship. Together, these spaces encourage collaboration, learning by doing, and knowledge sharing.
Public support and funding
Norway provides solid public backing for entrepreneurship. Innovation Norway and the Research Council of Norway offer funding, guidance, and programs that help reduce risk and support experimentation—also for AI-based ideas and early ventures.
AI research, tools, and companies
Oslo benefits from close links between research and business. Institutions such as the University of Oslo en SINTEF contribute AI knowledge and talent that feed directly into startups and companies.
The city is also home to a growing group of AI-driven companies that inspire young entrepreneurs. Cognite applies AI to industrial data in sectors like energy and infrastructure. Boost.ai develops AI chat solutions used by banks, public services, and companies worldwide. Kahoot! uses AI to personalize learning experiences, while Attensi combines AI and gamification for skills development. Digi.me focuses on responsible data use, and No Isolation shows how technology and AI-supported tools can address social inclusion. These examples show that AI in Oslo is applied across industry, education, services, and social impact.
Events and community moments
Oslo’s ecosystem is strengthened by regular gatherings that bring people together. Oslo Innovation Week is a key annual moment, connecting startups, investors, researchers, and policymakers to share ideas and build cross-sector collaboration.
Looking ahead
Oslo continues to grow as a hub for responsible, inclusive, and collaborative AI entrepreneurship. We are also excited to be preparing to host the LTTA in Oslo this upcoming May, creating another opportunity to bring young entrepreneurs and partners together.
Together, co-working spaces, public support, AI research, and a strong community culture make Oslo a powerful ecosystem for young entrepreneurs exploring AI and innovation.
